Replaced a 22 year old Triangle tube heater with the Smart 40. My furnace hardly ever runs to keep my hot water hot unless I am using it. Really holds the heat. I have had it installed about a month now and I think it was a great purchase. A little expensive, but if it last as long as my last one, I'll be happy.

Had this boiler for 2 winters now in MA. First winter was hard. This last one less so. Great product. Made is USA. Cast iron. Will last forever my plumber tells me. Still 84% efficient. Doesn't need yearly maintenance like the higher efficient junk out there. That high efficient junk also requires a power vent that is super loud. Consider that too in your purchase. This Burnham is very quiet. No power vent. I use an old school dial thermostat and set it at 67. When I get my heating bill... more

Pros: -Wasn't very heavy -Came with many accessories including a flare adapters -Nice to have the option of an intake from the bottom on head units -VERY quiet. -All hook ups are on one side of head unit -Condenser has tons of directional options on how cables/lines enter unit. -Electrical is simple and easily accessible. -CFM displacement is impressive. -Condenser came with good accessories including rubber vibration pads. Contractor grade fan got noisy within 2 years and progressively got worse. It was above a bedroom and became so loud it interfered with sleep. This fan is in same location and you have to open attic door to see if it is running. Time will tell if it was worth the price but initially it is a good investment.
